Alice
Manzi's comprehensive education, technical expertise, and
varied experience have led to a comprehensive
portfolio of large figurative sculptures. Alice began sculpting
religious
themes at a young age and studied sculpture in High School
with Ron Mehlman.
Ms.
Manzi's Bachelor's Degree from Brooklyn College included
work in
marble carving with Pratt
Institute in Pietrasanta, Italy, and she served
as Graduate Assistant in the sculpture studios of New York
University, receiving a Master's Degree
in sculpture.
Ms.
Manzi's apprenticeship was with Fr. Thomas McGlynn, O.P.,
the sculptor
of the statue of Our Lady
at Fatima and other pieces of sacred art around the world.
Alice has exhibited in regional, national and international
shows, and her works are housed in the permanent collections
of museums as well as in numerous private collections.
Ms.
Manzi
has taught sculpture, life drawing and anatomy for many years, and has served on the faculity of Skidmore College adn Russell Safe College. Her
strengths include mastery of the human anatomy and an innate
ability to evoke personality in a figure.
